Welcome to Mono Lake

Just east of California’s Sierra Nevada and Yosemite National Park lies Mono Lake, one of the oldest continuously existing lakes in North America. 

Estimated to be over 760,000 years old, this extreme and pristine ecosystem is home to Artemia monica, 

a species of brine shrimp found nowhere else on Earth.
